Mars Area School District collected $8,149 to benefit Susan G. Komen Greater Pennsylvania as part of the district’s annual “Hats for Heroes,” held Oct. 23.

Students in kindergarten through grade 12 were asked to make a donation in return for the opportunity to wear a hat in school. Donations will continue to be accepted online at https://tinyurl.com/yypl2o4r through Friday.

In addition, all students and staff were encouraged to wear pink as part of a district-wide “Pink Out” to raise awareness for the cause.
