Zelie resumes shutoffs, opens office
Zelienople resumed penalizing late electric and water accounts Tuesday, roughly six months after suspending all utility shutoffs and penalties due to economic hardship wrought by COVID-19 shutdowns.
The borough also will resume disconnecting the utilities of customers who have failed to pay utility bills.
Payment plans are available for customers who are late on multiple payments and are arranged on a case-by-case basis. Residents can call the borough’s administrative office at 724-452-6610 to set up such a plan.
Zelienople also opened its borough office to the public Wednesday morning, months after the borough closed it to the public out of pandemic-related concerns.
Office hours for in-person visits are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with all visitors required to wear masks and asked to maintain social distancing. Entry to the building is permitted only through the rear entrance, with the front to be used for emergency exits.
