Forced to cancel its annual community picnic this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, residents of Harmony Junction housing development in Jackson Township thought outside the box and came up with a creative way to bring together the community while still practicing social distancing. Families participated Friday in a luau-themed community walk and scavenger hunt throughout the neighborhood. Dozens of participants displayed scavenger hunt items on front lawns, in windows or front doors — even on lamp posts. The evening activities also included tables with giveaway items such as treats, Hawaiian leis, coupons for restaurants and other items.
