Cool dip
Members of Mars Area High School’s Interact Club and Key Club raised $2,240 to benefit Special Olympics Pennsylvania as part of the annual Pittsburgh Polar Plunge. More than 60 students participated in this year’s plunge, held Feb. 29 at Heinz Field. Along with two club advisers, students jumped into a pool of icy water to benefit their cause. This year’s Pittsburgh Polar Plunge raised $575,700, surpassing its 2020 goal of $500,000. Pittsburgh Cool Schools Challenge and the state police sponsored the annual event.
