Butler bowlers sweep Raiders

Orton hits 1,000 points for ACV

Butler’s seniors rolled Wednesday — with a little help from a freshman and sophomore.

The Golden Tornado bowling teams swept Seneca Valley 7-0 on Senior Day at Family Bowlaway. Senior Chris Huff rolled a 627 series for the boys while fellow seniors Blaine Hooks and Nathan Kniess had high games of 206 and 215, respectively.

Freshman Rocco Rice rolled a 253 game and 720 series for the Golden Tornado while sophomore Brock Hepler turned in a 215-618.

Ryan Thoma, a senior, led Seneca Valley with a 205-552. Tiler Stoops added a 209-550.

Lauren Bash led the Tornado girls with a 203-578. Rachael Blose added a 553 series, Katlyn Wolf a high game of 194.

Senior Kaelah Nelson led Seneca Valley with a 236-587.

Butler’s girls clinched the North Section title with the win and both Tornado teams are 8-0 on the year. Both Seneca Valley teams are 3-4.

Franklin Regional 7, Freeport 0 — Both Yellowjacket teams were swept Wednesday. Alex Smith had a 252-649 and Ian Sunny a 236-615 for the Panther boys. Sarah Robinson led the F-R girls with a 206-541.

Tyler Williams had a 181-516, Mark Livingston a 203-514 and Issaic Spencer a 190-507 for Freeport’s boys. Amber Cepec led the Yellowjacket girls with a 237-603.

Boys BasketballLevi Orton scored the 1,000th point of his high school career Wednesday night as A-C Valley defeated Clarion, 68-56. Orton had 21 points, eight steals and six rebounds.Eddie Stevanus added 15 points, eight rebounds and four steals for the Falcons.
