Owner sells Westinghouse campus for $180 million

Company has lease for site until 2032

CRANBERRY TWP — Selling for more than $218 per square foot, the Westinghouse Corp. campus in Cranberry Woods has a new owner.

Columbia Property Trust announced Friday its sale of the 824,000-square-foot complex for $180 million. The company announced in December it had been under contract to sell the property. It did not announce the new owner.

Westinghouse will lease the property, located at 1000 Westinghouse Drive, until 2032. Jerry Andree, Cranberry Township manager, told the Eagle in December the township isn’t concerned about the nuclear company ceasing operations or moving from Cranberry.

Columbia stated in its 2017 annual report it was looking to sell its Cranberry property, which the company purchased in 2010, to focus more on its primary markets in New York, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.

Since its sale from Toshiba to Brookfield for $4.6 billion in August 2018, the nuclear company has utilized less space on campus, subletting some of the 19-acre site to other companies.
