Mars Area High School senior Alyssa Machi and junior Macy Barshick earned first place for their submission in the annual West View Water Authority High School Video Contest.

ADAMS TWP — A team of Mars Area High School students was selected as the winner of the second annual West View Water Authority High School Video Contest.

Senior Alyssa Machi and junior Macy Barshick earned first place and a $1,000 prize for their video, “Water is Everywhere.”

The video highlights the impacts water and water conservation have on a community.

The contest challenges high school students to create videos educating and informing the public on different topics related to the environment, school spirit or community service.
