MIDDLESEX TWP — Supervisors ramped up their search Wednesday for members of a committee to oversee an update of the township's comprehensive plan.

Officials approved advertising to find about a dozen residents interested in joining the committee.

Those interested should submit an application letter including some information about themselves and why they'd like to be on the committee.

Township manager Travis Cavanaugh said more details will be included in the advertisement.

Residents requested the committee be as diverse as possible and include longtime residents, business owners and housing plan residents, among others.

Andy Lutzic, who served on the previous comprehensive plan committee, reminded those in the audience that this will not be an easy task.

“It's quite the time commitment,” he said. “Don't take it lightly.”

The current comprehensive plan, Vision 2020, was signed in 2005 and is a joint plan with Richland Township.
