Mars HOF class induction nears
ADAMS TWP — The 2018 Mars Area Sports Hall of Fame will hold its induction ceremony at 5 p.m. Sept. 14 at Mars Area Middle School.
This year’s inductees are Bill Bair (football), Richard “Dicky” Bell (contributor), Valerie Danner (basketball), Blair Gerlach (soccer), Dana Petruska (basketball) and Chuck Young (baseball).
All inductees will also be recognized at approximately 6:30 p.m. that night at the Mars Athletic Complex, prior to the Planets’ home football game against Penn Hills.
SV golf outing planned Sept. 29
JACKSON TWP — The 23rd annual Seneca Valley Boys Golf Outing will take place Sept. 29 at Connoquenessing Country Club.
Fee is $100 per golfer for the scramble format, which covers greens fees, cart, lunch and dinner.

“Learn to Swim” coming this fall
JACKSON TWP — The Seneca Valley Swim Club is offering a Learn to Swim program this fall.
Lessons are available Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings during September and October. Fees are $75 for a group lesson, $30 for a private lesson, $40 for semi-private (must be two children).

Introduction to Swim team at SV
JACKSON TWP — The Seneca Valley Swim Club is putting together an Introduction to Swim Team group.
There will be no meets or competitions for this group. The program will focus on stroke development, swimming terminology and rules, building strength and endurance.
The program runs from 6 to 6:40 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays, Sept. 10 through March 27, at the Intermediate High School Pool. Monthly rate is $90.

Behrend hosting soccer clinic
ERIE — The Penn State Behrend women’s soccer program will host a College ID Clinic Oct. 28 for high school girls soccer players.
Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the soccer stadium. The clinic will run until 5 p.m.
