Swim club hosting pool party

The Seneca Valley Swim Club will host a free community pool party at the Cranberry Waterpark from 9-11 p.m. Aug. 16.

The event is free and open to the public (kids 6/older and parents).

Meet SVSC team members and coaches, discover the Learn to Swim program with upcoming fall/winter and spring sessions, and learn about joining one of the fastest growing swim clubs in the area.

Attendees do not need to be waterpark members or Cranberry Township residents to attend. Bring your own inflatables/pool floats. The concession stand will be open.

Vintage baseball coming to KAP

BUTLER — Vintage baseball returns to Kelly Automotive Park at 7 p.m. Aug. 25 when the Butler Barons host the Allegheny Ironsides.

The game will be played by rules and with equipment from the 1860s.

Members of the Barons are Matt McCune, Tyler Friel, Brian Zima, Steve Hall, Randy Collins, Nate McCullough, Burt Hollobaugh, Josh “Sluggo” Smith, Cody Herald, Mike Sikorski and Jim Shearer.

Adult tickets are $6, senior and student tickets $4. Tickets are available at the Butler County Historical Society at 123 W. Diamond St. and Kelly Automotive Park.

Swim tryouts slated this month

JACKSON TWP — The Seneca Valley Swim Club will conduct new swimmer tryout evaluations from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 13-14, 27-28 at the SV Intermediate High School pool.

Charity golf outing slated Aug. 18

SUMMIT TWP — The golf outing fundraiser for Elliott Acres Therapy Riding, Inc., takes place Aug. 18 at Hiland Golf Course.

Registration is at 7:30 a.m., shotgun start at 8 a.m. The four-person scramble has a fee of $70 per person, which covers greens fees, cart, snack, beverage and dinner.

Elliott Acres Therapy Riding, Inc., is a non-profit center for riders with special needs.
