,h3>Hershman, Pitt drop ACC final

ATLANTA — Mars graduate and University of Pittsburgh senior center fielder Erin Hershman helped the Panther softball team reach the finals of the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament over the weekend.

The Panthers (33-18-1), seeded No. 2, led Florida State 4-2 in the bottom of the final inning before surrendering a game-winning three-run homer.

SV grad Hajduk shines for Behrend

PITTSBURGH — Seneca Valley graduate Alex Hajduk, a pitcher for the Penn State Behrend baseball team, tossed a complete game in the Lions’ 9-4 AMCC Tournament victory over Penn State Altoona recently.

Hajduk won his eighth game of the season. He scattered 10 hits and struck out seven. PSU Behrend (25-17) ended its season with a 15-11 loss to Pitt-Greensburg later in the day.

SV girls hoop clinic in June

JACKSON TWP — The 2018 Seneca Valley girls basketball clinics will run June 11-14 at the high school and Intermediate High School.

Separate clinics will be held for girls entering grades 1-2, 3-6 and 7-8. Registration deadline is May 31.

PGA Junior League on tap

Cranberry Highlands is hosting the PGA Junior League golf program this season.

The program is available for children 16 and under at all levels of proficiency. Children in the program will receive instruction from Cranberry Highlands’ two PGA professionals.
