Democrats pick candidates for the November general election

Democrats selected Daniel Smith Jr. to face state Rep. Daryl Metcalfe, R-12th, in November. Smith beat Honora Rockar in Tuesday's Democratic primary.

Congressman Mike Kelly, who saw his district chopped up by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, will run against Democrat Ronald DiNicola in November in the new 16th District. DiNicola defeated Chris Rieger and Robert Multari for the right to face Kelly in the general election. The 16th District includes much of western Butler County.

In the newly-drawn 15th District, which includes much of eastern Butler County, incumbent Republican Congressman Glenn Thompson will face Democrat Susan Boser in November. Boser defeated fellow Democrat Wade Jodun Tuesday.
