ARD program given on trespass charge
A Valencia man was admitted Wednesday into the county Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program after being charged with trespassing.
Steven A. Garcia, 52, was entered into the program with two years probation on a charge of felony criminal trespass by President Judge Thomas Doerr.
He was also ordered to pay court costs and a $100 fine for a summary charge of disorderly conduct.
Garcia was charged after a June 15 incident at a home in the 200 block of Hilltop Drive in Center Township.
Police responded to the home after a young girl contacted her father about an unknown man inside the home.
When troopers arrived, Garcia was found and told police that he used to live there and had been inside to look for a safe that he had left when he moved out, according to court documents.
His attorney, Armand Cingolani III, said his client is a “decent man” who had an adverse reaction to medication, which brought about the plea agreement.
